The ob<x>jective of this course is to develop familiarity with the fundamental concepts of linear system theory and to develop proficiency with the techniques for developing mathematical models, assessing the intrinsic dynamics of lumped parameter dynamic systems, and predicting dynamic behavior.

Course Description: This course is limited to discussing continuous-time models of physical systems and discrete-time models of sampled-data systems. Using real-world engineering systems as examples can lead to a better understanding of the relationship between mathematical models and physical systems and can help to gain a deeper insight into the intrinsic dynamics of the system. Both the input-output description/transfer function representation and the state-variable description are considered. MATLAB will be used in the course to perform necessary computations. B.
